Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)


What can you do now to lessen the damage in the next storm or event?
That’s what hazard mitigation is all about.
The OCD-DRU Hazard Mitigation Grant Program has money for eligible homeowners to elevate or reconstruct their homes to meet the FEMA required elevation height for their area, and for Individual Mitigation Measures (IMM) to make homes stronger and safer in future natural disasters. Homeowner eligibility and eligible expenses are based on OCD-DRU HMGP requirements and FEMA regulations. These funds are not subject to the Road Home $150,000 maximum cap. The Louisiana OCD-DRU Hazard Mitigation Grant Program has three different types of mitigation for which Road Home Option 1 Applicants might qualify:
